Solo travelers looking for comfort

I had a clean room and the bed was super comfy and quiet, which helped me get real good sleep after a long day. Plus, Steve and Claire made me feel like family, always checking in on me and even let me check in a bit early, which was a nice touch.

It wasn’t the cheapest option but still acceptable.

I had the absolute pleasure of staying in the Deluxe Single Room, and let me tell you, it was a haven! The bed was so comfortable that I woke up feeling like I was wrapped in a cloud. The location was wonderfully quiet yet just minutes away from all the action, making it perfect for a peaceful getaway!

My stay made exploring the area simple, as the hotel is just a short walk from Paignton Pier and offers easy access to Roundham Head, where I enjoyed scenic views along the coast. the hosts were friendly and made sure I felt welcome, which added to the overall charm of my visit.

Room was spotlessly clean with everything I needed and made me feel at home.

I appreciated the clean, comfortable room and the welcoming hosts at The Clifton. While there was some noise from the nearby restaurant, my stay remained enjoyable in this centrally located gem.

we had an amazin stay at The Clifton! steve and claire were super friendly and made us feel right at home. the room was verry clean and comfy, and the location was perfect for everything we wanted to do. breakfast was really good too, fresh cooked and plenty of options. would totally recommend this place to anyone!

only two things to mention, the bathroom carpet looked a bit outdated and made me think of hygiene. also, the heating could be better during the day, it got really chilly!

I had such a lovely stay with a spotlessly clean room and a handy washing up kit for my drinks. I enjoyed relaxing in the cozy lounge and had a great time at the inviting garden area. The shower pressure could’ve been a bit better, but overall it was a fab experience! 😊

Positioned perfectly for exploring local transportation, shops, and the beach, the location was ideal. I missed having breakfast included, and the tea and coffee replenishing could have been a bit more consistent.

We spent four nights in a Standard King Room. While the sink was in the bedroom, it was a minor detail compared to the warm hospitality. Claire’s remodeling plans show the commitment to enhancing guest experience! Don't miss the dining area's charming atmosphere. breakfast is a must!

Try the nearby cafes for breakfast. they offer fantastic options that might not be advertised at the hotel.

i had a lovely stay at the clifton! my double room was very comfortable and had everything i needed for relaxation. breakfast offered a great selection, and the location was perfect, close to all amenities. steve and claire, the hosts, were friendly and sociable, making my solo trip even more enjoyable.

The location nails it, close to beach access and a string of nearby eateries for when hunger strikes. The Standard King Room delivers on space and comfort, setting a solid vibe for relaxation after roaming around.

The hallways and stairways felt dated and dim, with a worn carpet that could use a refresh. The absence of breakfast on-site was a bit of a letdown, though the nearby options did help mitigate that disappointment. The bath plug was jammed, leaving the option of a soak out of the question, which feels like a missed opportunity—especially after a long day. It's a trek if you're not the sprightly type, too, with steep stairs that might not sit well with everyone.

It was just a prime choice for a weekend in Paignton with definitely value for money. The single room was comfortable, and I appreciated the fast Wi-Fi available. Keep in mind that noise can come from nearby restaurants, so think about earplugs if you're sensitive to sound.
